Presenting the Past

Will my hair survive the pandemic?

It’s times like these that are roughest on our…

I’m sorry but this is an essential issue. Of course, there maybe things more important, however, this is right up there.

Other than “how to stay alive ” what are your thoughts regarding the Coronavirus?

There are fears and theories from everyone and while I may give in to them sometimes too, I try to stay focused on what matters most to me and that is my family. It is a scary time, we’ve never been through a pandemic like this COVID-19. Just keep in mind, we’re in it together… but separated.

I’m not a doctor and I don’t have a cure. All I can do is pray for us all while looking for some positivity and light during the darkness. Also, I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything. For the last year (if not longer) I’ve been focused on thinking and living a “vintage lifestyle”. In fact, it’s why I even created this website. It’s for those of us that place value on some of the best aspects from past eras.

Maybe we all just got out of control, putting more time and energy on work, money, and things rather than being a contribution to family, traditions, and nature. Maybe, just maybe – this is God’s way of bringing us back to the core of what’s important. Regardless if you do or don’t believe in God, and even if you believe this is some form of population control, it doesn’t matter… it’s here and people are getting sick and not all will recover. Now is the time to be safe and do whatever necessary to stay that way. Ok, enough on that.

What do you believe were some of the best aspects of past eras?

Who else loves the thought of living an “I love Lucy” lifestyle? So what if I’m old fashioned, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Everyone brought something to the table. Everyone had a role, that’s what created balance and harmony.

There were family values and structure. Can we get back to that? Focus on family and community. Kids had respect, not this entitlement attitude that I believe comes from parent’s guilt of having to work so much.

What is better now than in the past?

Hmmm, I can’t think of anything either. Maybe some technology, if utilized right. Perhaps some medical procedures and instant gratification… such as fast food. Just because it’s faster doesn’t mean it’s better. In reality, we have the best of both worlds. The intelligence to know what worked in the past with the conveniences of today. Let’s just incorporate some of the great elements of the past and make this the greatest time ever.

Let’s have fun with this!

The beautiful styles, traditions, dinners, schedules, and routines from the past…

Every week I will post a helpful tip, link, or video that could be considered helpful to hone in on our womanly skills… this is gonna be fun. If you have any tips, recipes, etc… please message me or share them now.

First one I’d like to share is a fun little hair tutorial, for those that have a little time to play at home but would like guidance on how to:
